Reaching Out

to the Community During COVID-19

Cornerstone Community Services responded swiftly to the call to reach out to our community when COVID-19 first hit Singapore at the beginning of 2020 before our nation implemented the circuit breaker (CB) measures. We are grateful to our frontline workers who demonstrate courage and commitment to keep our country running during this pandemic. Here is a throwback on the three outreach events before and after CB.

February 2020

Cornerstone Community Services, and the staff of Cornerstone Community Church Singapore teamed up with the National Taxi Association and Changi Airport to distribute 500 free lunch sets to the taxi drivers at Changi Airport. Many of them have been badly hit by the COVID-19 situation, with fewer tourist arrivals and more Singaporeans telecommuting and staying at home.

March 2020

Our seniors from Cornerstone Senior Centre showed their gratitude and support for our frontline healthcare workers at Tan Tock Seng Hospital by sewing and making tissue packet holders along with personalised messages to encourage them.

September/October 2020

Our migrant workers were not forgotten as our seniors from Cornerstone Senior Centre spent two weeks to sew 200 pieces of face masks for them. The free masks were subsequently distributed to the workers through The Barn@Penjuru thrift shop outlet.
